Person that I admire! Vivian Maier

 

My chosen person for this topic is Vivian Maier, an American photographer, she had no formal art education, she is an amateur photographer. She worked as a babysitter and in her spare time, she liked to portray everyday life, the streets, children. She is well known for her way of photographing herself, her self-portraits are an inspiration these days. In their last days they took pictures of graffiti, newspapers, etc.

She ended her life in a asylum, was discovered by an art critic, gained worldwide recognition after her death.

I deeply admire Vivian, for her strength and perseverance to continue on the path of photography, without seeking remuneration in return, but sharpening her gaze even more.

I feel that it is essential to know Vivian's visual work, because it shows us a very interesting, thoughtful and realistic aesthetic proposal. It is also fundamental to show how a person with a self-taught personality can generate a great artistic proposal.
